Maximum adhesion through professional ‘sweeping’

The key difference lies in the pre-treatment. Galvanised gratings often have a very smooth or passivated surface to which conventional paints find it difficult to adhere permanently. That is why our gratings are ‘swept’ before coating. In this special process, the surface is roughened and cleaned using corundum blasting (sandblasting) under controlled pressure.

• The benefit for you: the surface is microscopically enlarged, enabling the powder to anchor mechanically. This is an essential step for an extremely durable coating that will not flake or peel, even after years of use.

Highly resistant curing process at 180°C to 200°C

Following meticulous preparation, the electrostatic powder coating (EPS) is applied. The powder particles are electrically charged and coat every single strut of the grating like a uniform armour – even in the hard-to-reach intersections. During the subsequent drying process, the powder is cross-linked and baked into an insoluble finish at temperatures of approximately 180°C to 200°C. The result is a surface that is highly impact-, scratch- and weather-resistant, with significantly greater layer thickness and elasticity compared to wet paint.
