How does point LED lighting in the handrail work?

Unlike continuous light strips (as in our LUNORA® system), point lighting uses individual, high-performance LED spots. These are embedded at precisely calculated intervals directly into the underside of the handrail tube. The result is a clean, flush appearance without protruding edges. The light is emitted conically downwards through special lenses in the spot. This creates a structured rhythm of light and shadow on the stairs, making the individual step edges optimally visible to the eye without dazzling pedestrians.

Technical Details and Premium Processing

Our LED handrails are designed for professional use and impress with the highest processing quality. Whether for the private DIY enthusiast or the professional metalworker – the system is well thought out:

• High-quality stainless steel (V2A & V4A): Choose between V2A (1.4301) for protected indoor areas and V4A (1.4404) for maximum corrosion resistance in outdoor areas (e.g., near the coast or in pool facilities). The surface is elegantly matt ground (grit 240) as standard.
• Invisible cable routing: A major advantage of this system is the completely concealed electrics. The cables of the individual 12V or 24V spots run safely inside the handrail tube. Through specially milled wall brackets with cable routing, the power is invisibly led into the wall and to the transformer.
• Flush LED pucks: The spots close exactly with the curvature of the tube (usually Ø 42.4 mm). This offers no point of attack for vandalism, facilitates cleaning, and ensures a flawless feel when sliding along with the hand.
• Safe low voltage: The system operates with safe 12V or 24V technology. The appropriate LED power supplies (transformers) can be easily hidden in a flush-mounted box, in the control cabinet, or in the suspended ceiling.

Light is not just light. Depending on the location and the desired atmosphere, you can adjust the characteristics of your point handrail lighting:

• Warm white (approx. 2700K - 3000K): Creates a cosy, inviting atmosphere. Perfect for private living spaces, wooden stairs, and dining areas.
• Neutral white (approx. 4000K): Provides clear, modern light. Ideal for office buildings, stairwells in multi-family houses, hospitals, and public facilities where contrasts should be maximised.
• Dimmability: In combination with appropriate controllers, the LED spots can be integrated into modern smart home systems (DALI, KNX, ZigBee) and dimmed steplessly.
