Yes, this can easily be done if required. The stainless steel tube can be cut to your exact required length using suitable professional tools (e.g. a metal chop saw). The LED strips supplied also have clearly marked cutting lines (usually every 50 mm). You can simply cut the light strip at these points with a pair of scissors without damaging the electronics.

The included 24V power supply should always be accessible for maintenance but concealed from view. Popular and safe solutions include deep flush-mounted boxes directly behind the handrail bracket with the cable feed-through, a concealed space in the control cabinet, within a suspended ceiling or under the stairs. Ensure that the transformer is adequately ventilated and is not completely encased in plaster.

That depends entirely on the location and your personal taste. Warm white (2700 K) creates a very cosy, homely atmosphere and harmonises particularly well with wooden staircases or in private living spaces.
