The big one, with official certification: Ø 62 mm glass point holder with AbP

When it comes to large spans and heavy loads, the Ø 62 mm glass point fix is your safest choice. It combines immense holding power with certainty regarding building regulations. This fix is specially designed for projects where standard sizes are no longer sufficient – whether due to high wind loads, large glass formats or public safety requirements.

Thanks to the wide contact surface of 62 mm, stress peaks in the glass are minimised. However, the most important factor for your planning is the certification.

🛡️ Tested safety: With a General Building Inspection Test Certificate (AbP)

Take no risks during the final inspection. This heavy-duty bracket has an AbP. This is your key advantage over untested products:

  • ✔ Save time and money: The test certificate officially confirms suitability for use. You generally avoid the costly and bureaucratic ‘case-by-case approval’ (ZiE) process with the building authorities.
  • ✔ Structurally relevant: Perfectly suited for fall protection and applications where DIN 18008 applies.

Applications for the 62 mm anchor

Architects specifically use this diameter when:

  • Large-scale glass façades or heavy laminated safety glass panes need to be supported.
  • The design requires striking, visible technical elements (‘industrial look’).
  • Drilled holes in the glass are larger and need to be securely covered.

👨‍🔧 Expert advice: Calculations for custom configurations

Large-scale projects often require custom wall spacings, for which you will need to use your own threaded rods or pins. Please note: When assembling the system, you must use the specific formula for the 62-series bracket. Due to its solid construction and rubber components, different clearance dimensions apply here than for smaller brackets.

Here’s how to calculate the minimum length of your threaded pin correctly:

B + glass thickness – 6.0 mm + allowance of 15 mm
= minimum length of threaded pin
The formula in detail:
  • B: The dimension of the base body (see technical drawing).
  • - 6.0 mm: The specific clearance dimension for the Ø 62 mm bracket (Important: Not -3 mm as with small brackets!).
  • Allowance of 15 mm: Minimum screw-in depth into the base for full load-bearing capacity.
